Puerto Vallarta is located on Mexico’s Pacific Coast along Bahía de Banderas and is a perfect destination for people of all ages and interests. Its modern infrastructure, numerous entertainment facilities and wonderful natural sights make it the perfect backdrop for this most enriching and meditative experience. Puerto Vallarta is a fusion of the very best of Mexico, and with a population of 250,000, it’s somewhere between a small town, and a big, bustling city. It offers a perfect mix of small town friendly hospitality and big city shopping and entertainment.
The Malécon, that runs adjacent to Puerto Vallarta’s downtown, is a beautiful seawall boardwalk that is lined with great shopping, award-winning restaurants, chic nightclubs and cafés, and the most remarkable street entertainment that includes talented street performers and the town’s numerous open-air sculptures. At the south end of the Malécon, one will find the Zona Romántica and Los Muertos beach, which offers one of the most beautiful sunsets ever seen.
Surrounding Vallarta is an eclectic menu of sites to visit, including El Tuito, a small village located in the mountains along the coast that is known for the richness of its cheeses and variety of honeys; the authentic Mexican town of El Pitillal, and the historical village of San Sebastián del Oeste, located in the spectacular Sierra Madre mountains.
Puerto Vallarta is known for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. They offer an incredible backdrop for practicing pranayama and asana, and group meditation. Our experienced yoga instructors will lead yoga and meditation each morning as the sun rises and evening as the sun sets.Your entrancing yoga sessions will be enhanced by the enrichment you will experience as you explore the Mexican culture. There is far more to Puerto Vallarta than beautiful beaches. There is its rich arts and culture, the majestic Sierra Madre mountains and the characteristic Mexican villages that are home to the marine parks that offer scuba diving and snorkeling through caves and reefs, and the numerous local markets that offer all that is unique to Mexico, including local hospitality.

Culinary
Although tacos, quesadilla, tamales, guacamole, not to mention pescado and mariscos – fish and seafood, are part of the savoury gastronomy of Mexico, other healthy international favourites will be created together on your retreat.
Your culinary experience will include a visit to the local markets, where you will help to choose some of the ingredients that will be used to create classic Mexican and other dishes, prepared by you and our resident chef. You will learn the tricks of the trade, from knowing how to choose the best ingredients to how each meal is prepared to perfection. Then, of course, you’ll get to savour each meal that is prepared.

Photography
Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding areas offer unparalleled photographic opportunities. Throughout the world, it is not common to find ocean landscapes as beautiful as those found in Puerto Vallarta, within close proximity to majestic mountain scapes.
Mexico’s natural beauty and rich architecture will provide a myriad of locations for photographers, amateurs to professionals, to lose themselves in creative joy.
Our retreat’s resident photographer will lead a half-day workshop at the beginning of your stay, to explain just how to shoot the many wonders of Puerto Vallarta and the eclectic beauty that surrounds it.
